The “Agau” Published in British Vogue

British Vogue January 2026

The image published featuring the “Agau” was taken by photographer Jessica Bishop, also known as Just Jess, on the Bonneville Salt Flats of Utah on the first editorial shoot day of Cara Mia’s “Earth the Workshop”.

The “Agau” Corset and Corset Skirt, named after our very talented model Agau Deng, was designed and made in house in our San Francisco Atelier as part of a small ocean themed collection titled “Under the Sea”, created specifically for the workshop.

Designer and founder of Atelier des Modistes Suzanne Hanley worked directly with Cara Mia to design the “Under the Sea” Collection, following her concepts and creative direction to design 12 sea inspired looks ranging from bridal and evening wear, to boudoir and resort.

The “Agau”, made entirely in Italian double duchesse silk satin, is the bridal ceremony look in the collection, shot for the “Micro Wedding Editorial” alongside 5 oceanic bridesmaid, or “mermaid”, evening wear dresses and gowns, all inspired by different textures, colors and creatures of the ocean.
